Barrier Islands - Ship Island

Barrier Islands - Ship Island, Mississippi 09-26-27 12:00 AM ( about 16 hours )

The last two days of fishing the barrier islands in south Mississippi have been phenominal. My clients Joey Lewis, his brother Scott, and Nemo Fore had magnificent weather, and two days of exciting fishing fun aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS.

On Friday, the first day, a morning bite on the inshore reefs produced 25 white trout an 3 big Spanisn mackerel. That afternoon we ended up at Ship Island, and in three hours the gentlemen had non stop fish catching fun landing 22 Florida pompano and 5 bull reds.

Of course there was never a dull moment with constant action from big ladyfish and a few bluefish. When the big bull reds moved in, litterally hundreds of them, the boat was surrounded by the hungry fish. Needless to say, all hell broke loose and it was game on with the 10-pound-test spinning gear.

When the smoke cleared that day the 3 anglers from South Carolina boxed 25 white trout, 3 Spanish mackerel, 22 pompano, and 5 redfish. A fine catch indeed!

The following day we headed straight to the barrier islands once again, and the pompano bite was on soon as we anchored up. Stripping line and leaping madly out of the water the pompano were once again putting on a show. However, the guys had two more shots at the bull reds, and ended up landing 6 that day, one a really fine specimen that Joey opted to safely release.

What can I say, the pictures don't lie, and these men had the time of their lives. From the sound of things these South Carolina boys will be coming back to TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS for many more adventures to come. Yes, fishing is good in south Mississippi so step aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and create your own fishing memories.

Capt. Robert L. Brodie of TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS

earlybird: It's hard to describe the thrill these men had in those two days of fishing. If a fly fisherman would have been on board he would have been in heaven. And best of all, you could tell these men truly enjoyed and appreciated that fishing experience. Regards, Capt. Brodie
