Possession Point, Washington 07-31-08 06:00 AM ( about 2 hours )
After fishing Point No Point for about 3 hours without a bump I decided to hit possession bar on the way back to everett. I dropped a green splatter back hootchie with a twinkle skirt that had about 36" of 60lb leader behind a green glow hotspot. I put it at 72' on the wire and sped up so that I had just under a 45 degree angle on the wire. I trolled from 150' straigt into the bar until I was at 80' and then followed that contour toward the satchet head bouy. My reel was clicking a little bit from being wound tight so I didn't think much about it. Then the clicking went crazy and I looked back and my pole was doubled over bouncing. Upon getting my pole out of the holder I loosened up my lever drag a little bit and the fish ran like no other. I was a little worried about how much line I was loseing so I put the boat in neutral and started to make ground on the fish. It came in easy now and dove staight to the bottom. I as soon as I saw the flasher under the boat I readied the net. the fish hit the surface and NO FIN. In the net it went and weighed out at 16lb. A tie for my biggest king.
