Puget Sound King redemption!

Decided to fish the afternoon tide change today. After yesterday's goose egg, I didn't want a repeat. So we leave Edmonds around 5:15 and drop our crab pots before heading over to point no point.

We drop our lines just south of the point and fishing before 6. Before the first rod went into the holder, Jim gets a hit and fish on! It surfaces and we long release a doggy. We then get both lines in the water and get a couple of hits with no hookups.

After watching a few doggies get caught, we get a good takedown and the fight is on. After a couple of good runs, Jim's line goes slack. We bring up the rig, and it turns out that the ring that attaches the hook to the spoon broke off! WTH!

We're a good ways away from the crowd now in some pretty choppy water, but we get back in the water and circle back around. A little while later, another fish on. My turn on the rod, and Jim starts bringing up the other rod... we get a double! Oh crap, the motor is turned and his line is also on my side of the boat. I reach hold the rod out as far as I could with one arm and reaches into the cabin with the other to straiten the wheel. I reach back and my fish is gone! @#$SD!

However, Jim gets his nice 12lb hen in the boat. We circle around again, and I get a small fish that I lose. I never lose that many fish, so bad luck for me today.

We leave at 8 to pick up our pots, end up with 4 keepers, and head back in. What a good after work trip.
