Ship Creek, AK
Downtown Anchorage, AK, Alaska 07-16-08 06:00 PM ( about 9 hours )
Went down Wednesday night after work with a buddy of mine and his kid who just got back from a tour in Korea with the Army and fished for COHO just upstream of the ARRC trestle. Weather was cloudy and some drizzle on and off from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.(1hr before high tide and after high tide). Nothing caught or did not see any fish nearby caught. Fished fresh cured roe on the bottom of Ship Creek with my spinning rod setup the first 2 hrs and I switched to spoons and spinners the last hour to no avail. Buddies of mine stayed with soaking fresh cured roe without any luck. Going to Kenai River this Friday for reds (sockeye) since the counts are 25,000 per day (FINALLY!). Fish On!

Eklutna Tailrace, AK, Alaska 07-16-08 03:00 PM ( about 3 hours )
Fished cured roe at the Eklutna Tailrace upstream from where it joins with the Knik River for COHO without any luck. Not too many people and no fish seen caught. Had a date with a fishing buddy and his son at Ship Creek. So booked there after two hours at the Tailrace off Old Glenn Highway.
