Launched out of Everett opening day for crab, Set 4 pots at varied depths from 50-80 feet off the south side of Hat, after the first set we kept only 2 legal crab which came from the deepest pot (culled 15-20 sub legal, soft or females from each pot). Moved west toward Whidbey and decided to set the pots all a little deeper from 70-90 feet. Allowed them to soak about 90 minutes with salmon, chicken and turkey parts and hauled in 3 limits in 3 pots and let the rest go! Several of the crab that were culled were barely sub legal the 6-1/4" measurement (within 1/16") a good sign for the future! Had a great day and some tasty crab the next few days.
