    1.       Pat's background – 36 years with WDFW, retired spring 2015; lead for salmon fishery negotiations with tribes;
    2.       Since retirement, aiding Puget Sound sport fishing organizations during annual season-setting discussions by advocating for sport fishing interests with WDFW, and analyzing technical information about fisheries.
    3.       Discussion topics for Thursday, September 14:
    4.       Reviewing outcomes for 2016 and 2017 Puget Sound sport salmon fisheries;
    a.       Effect of forecasts; weak coho runs drive decisions in 2016; weak pink, coho and chinook runs combine to limit sport opportunities in 2017;
    b.      Effect of ESA and state-tribal politics; Federal permitting requirements force WDFW into unfavorable negotiation positions.
    5.       In-season management unnecessarily restricts conservative recreational fisheries;
    a.       Chinook mark-selective fisheries;
    6.       In-season management  benefits tribal fisheries;
    a.       Coho in-season updates;
    7.       What can be done to remedy poor outcomes? Planning for 2018.
