We Support Kids Fishing

  • We Give Back To Our Community

The money we raise from this event goes to give back to our community. We support several good causes in a big way.

We gave $7000 to this foundation in 2007/2008

500 Kids to Fish at Green Lake Saturday April 18th

WHAT: "Fishing Kids" event! 500 kids (we hope) shouting "I GOT ONE!!" Kids will cast their lines into the water and go home with a T-shirt, a rod and reel, and - maybe - a fish.

    WHEN: Saturday, Apri18, 2009 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE: Green Lake Park - West Green Lake Beach, 7312 W Green Lake Drive (by the Bathhouse Theater)

WHO: Seattle Parks and Recreation, the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the nonprofit C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation are sponsoring this event.

Fishing is a lifelong sport the whole family can enjoy, and this year's sponsors are dedicated to teaching kids about fishing, water safety, different kinds of fish, how to cast, and what to do with a fish once you catch it. Fishing gets kids outdoors and can introduce them to our state's most beautiful sites. During this Earth Month in Seattle, fishing teaches understanding of and respect for Pacific Northwest ecosystems and makes them aware of the importance of the environment to our quality of life.

Other sponsors are the Ballard Trout and Salmon Club, the Seattle Poggie Club, West Marine, C.A.S.T for Kids, the Washington State B.A.S.S. Foundation, Puget Sound Anglers (Sno-King Chapter), Berkley PowerBait, ZEBCO, and Eagle Claw. C.A.S.T. for Kids, founded in 1991, holds fishing events all over Washington state to introduce kids to the sport of fishing.
