    Habitat

    Pacific Razor clams are found on the west coast of North America, from Alaska to California.  They are found primarily on the coastal beaches a +3 foot to a -2 foot tide level.

    Lifecycle

    In Washington state, razor clams reach at most 6 inches with an average of 5 years lifespan.  In Alaska, where the water is colder can reach 11 inches long, and reach 15 years old.

For the family's second day of clamming, we went back to the same area north of Grayland and the clamming was just as good. Once it got light enought to see well, the shows were easy to find and we limited the four of us in about 1.5 hours.

We show up around 3PM, a couple of hours before low tide. People were already leaving. Clamming was good, and it took us 1/2 hour to limit.
